•     Pharmaceutical and device companies, sponsors, advertisers and professional bodies have no influence over editorial decisions or content.

•     Payment of fees or waiver status is handled separately and is not visible to editors or reviewers.

•     The Editor-in-Chief has full authority over editorial content and timing of publication, consistent with the WAME policy on editorial independence.

•     Published content is changed only through the Corrections and Retractions policy.

•     Editorial integrity takes precedence over commercial interests.
